What To Wear- Adults

These outfits are recommended for Sessions with choices for men and women. Any of these outfits can be used for Family Sessions, Engagement Sessions, Maternity Sessions, etc. Take a look at the 3 photo boards I’ve created with different color scheme’s (Blue, Fall Colors, and Black & White) for you to get inspiration from.

TIPS FOR ALL SESSIONS:
*Avoid logos or writing on clothing, and fluorescent/neon colors- they create unflattering color casts on the skin.
*The most flattering colors to photograph are neutrals like cream/whites, greys, and black.
*For colors, pinks and blues look great as well as jewel tones. Try not to choose a lot of green/brown if we’re photographing outdoors, it tends to blend in.
*Have a light layering piece (cardigan/button-up/light jacket) for versatility during the shoot.
*Try to pick casual (but nice) pieces. If we’re photographing in nature; anything too fancy will look silly.
*Comfort is key- choose comfortable items in soft fabrics and easy-to-wear pieces; things you don’t have to fuss with to get to look perfect.

TIPS FOR FAMILY SESSIONS:
*Choose one outfit per family member, with different layering pieces that can easily be interchanged for different looks without any full outfit changes.=*The idea is to be coordinated, but not matchy-matchy.
*Patterns look good if used sparingly- pick a few members to wear solids, and a few for patterns.

TIPS FOR ENGAGEMENT + MATERNITY SESSIONS:
*Try to make sure your nails are either freshly painted, or completely bare. Chipped nails are noticeable.
*Any of “her” looks and any of “his” looks on each board can be mixed and matched for a cohesive look for your Session.
*Think about your personalities, you want your photos to reflect who you really are. If you never wear dresses in real life, don’t force yourself because you think you have to. If a guy does not like dressing up- that’s fine! Pick a casual button-up and some dark denim jeans.
